Hello! I'm Sam Mallon, a visual journalist based in the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore area.
I graduated in 2022 from Western Kentucky University with a BA in photojournalism and gender and women's studies. I am a constant student of the world around me, with a special interest in foodways and environmentalism. As a result, my visual documentary work reflects an exploration of gender, community and resilience. My dream project documents the inextricable intersections of all of the above.
When I'm not behind my camera or my computer screen, I'm making a mess in the kitchen or wandering through the woods stopping to look at every little critter.
